Sample Patent Attorney Resume
This resume is an example of a person who is seeking a position with a law firm as a patent attorney. This job
entails having experience working with patents and trademarks in a legal setting and actively practicing in
the field.
A patent attorney resume must be specific and to the point, as employers will only scan your resume for a few
seconds before deciding if they want to interview you or not. Put your best foot forward by showcasing your
Bar admissions, GPA, professional experience and relatable skills to ensure you’re not overlooked.
Notice that in the example resume Samantha has placed her Related Work experience near the top, followed by her
Education. Keep in mind that you are free to organize your resume as you see fit, however the
order should either be chronological or functional. So if you are a recent grad who lacks experience, feel free
to put your Education and Bar admissions directly under your Objective. This calls attention to the fact that
you are a recent graduate who has already passed the Bar, rather than your lack of experience.
