Jessie Jiang from Trinity University
Jessie Jiang is the International Student and Scholar Advisor at Trinity University. Originally from China, she first came to the United States as an international student to pursue a Master’s Degree in Communication. She joined Trinity University in 2016. Jessie’s scope of work at Trinity includes advising international students on F1 and other non-immigrant issues, holding workshops/information sessions to provide accurate information to international students, maintaining most up-to-date data to US Citizenship and Immigration Services. She also organize programs that facilitates shared conversations between different cultural groups. She has conducted training and presentations for other campus departments; led and co-presented sessions at NAFSA conferences; taught a class every Fall semester, which gives new international students a deeper understanding of their identity and enables them to facilitate intercultural interactions with others.
Jessie likes to explore cultures of different countries by travelling and making international friends. She still keeps close relationships with many of her former students, and enjoys being around them, listening to their stories, and cheering for their successes.
