Natalie Brown from Truckee Meadows Community College
Natalie Brown has worked in higher education for the last 15 years. She was born in California but considers Reno, Nevada home. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Spanish from the University of Nevada, Reno and is completing her PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah. She currently oversees the International Services office at Truckee Meadows Community College which provides information and advice regarding international student admission, employment options, as well as academic planning and transfer advice. Programs and activities are offered that foster intercultural understanding and enhance the skills needed to be successful in an increasingly interconnected world. Prior to joining TMCC, she held various advising positions at Salt Lake Community College as well as the University of Utah. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, concert-going, and finding time to relax. Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) was established in 1979, is a regionally accredited, public two-year institution serving over 11,000 students each year in Reno, Nevada. TMCC offers more that 80 associate degrees and certificate programs. Upon completion of an associate degree, TMCC students with a 2.0 GPA or higher are guaranteed admission to University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) or University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). TMCC has transfer agreements with UNR and UNLV, making the process easy; however, if you choose to transfer out-of-state, our academic advisors can assist you in the process. Reno is located in northwestern Nevada in a high desert valley and has a population of about 300,000. The area is best known in the west as “America’s Adventure Place” offering a wide variety of outdoor and indoor adventures. Reno is a year-round tourist destination with four moderate seasons and boasting over 300 days of sunshine per year. The Reno/ Tahoe area offers world class skiing, snowboarding, hiking, golfing, boating and many other outdoor activities.
