Our Memorial Day NAFSA Reception:
By now, you should have received your invitation to our annual NAFSA reception. The reception is intentionally planned for Monday evening, before all the craziness of NAFSA truly begins. It is a great opportunity to relax with food, cocktails, music and of course, hang with us! Details are below, if you have not RSVP’d you can do that now too!

Always Wear Your Badge! - Be sure to always wear your badge, sleep with it if you have to! Wearing your badge will increase your networking reach and spark conversations with everyone around you. Not to mention, without it, they won’t let you in. It could also be your ticket into that reception you forgot to RSVP to.

Charge On - Chances are you will be using your phone quite heavily and as we all know, smart phone batteries go from 100% to 1% in the blink of an eye. An excellent option is to bring a portable charger with you for charging on the go and to relieve your stress of finding an open wall socket!

Get Down to Business - Did you pack enough business cards? Really? Are you sure? Check again! Exchanging business cards is a great conversation starter and a great way to easily exchange contact details. After getting someone’s card make a note on the back with what you talked about to keep that personal touch when following up with them.

Say Hello! - Come on now, don’t be shy. NAFSA is all about learning and networking so strike up a conversation! You never know where a chance encounter can take you, that person you talk to in the elevator for a few minutes could have an impact that lasts a lifetime!

Resource of the Month
 Will you be attending NAFSA? Do your lead inquiries go to your email? If you answered yes to both of these questions then you should have a communication plan in place for while you’re at the conference. If possible, have your lead emails go to a colleague to manage while you’re away. If this isn’t an option then you should set up a detailed auto-response.
