Coming Soon: InternationalStudent.com's Travel Video Contest
The annual InternationalStudent.com Travel Video Contest will open on September 1st for the 12th year. This is the biggest event on our site and we’ve enjoyed seeing it grow over the past few years. We encourage all of you to promote this contest to your international students as they’re qualified to enter if they would like to take a trip during their studies. Wouldn’t it be cool if one of your students won?
You can learn more about the contest and download a printable flyer on our Travel Video Contest page here. |

Tip of the Month
Are you taking full advantage of your Featured Profile? We recently upgraded our site so that you can edit content easily and make the most out of your profile. To make your profile a multimedia experience, add some video content by following these five steps!
-
Log into your administrator account.
-
Click on the “View Dashboard” icon on the left side of your screen.
-
Under “My Schools,” click the small pencil icon on the right to edit your school profile directly.
-
Below “Featured School Settings” click on our “Enhanced Editor” button to take you to the new profile editor!
-
Scroll down to the “Social Media and Video Content” section, there you can add a video from Youtube or Vimeo by inputting your video’s ID number and adding a brief description in the “Preview Text” box.
*Your Youtube video ID is located after the “=” sign at the end of the video url and will look like this: emDTphfPKtc. Your Vimeo video ID will be after the “/” and look like this: 28064578
After clicking “Create” your new video content block will be live on your profile for potential students to view! |

Use Video Content in your Marketing
Show what your school has to offer by showcasing video content. You may already use videos as a marketing method but if not, you should consider creating your own international student department or school YouTube channel to upload videos.
Creating your own channel is easy! First create a Gmail Account if you don’t have one already. After you are registered on Gmail you can go to YouTube to create your channel and upload videos.
As long as you have a camera and some willing participants you can make videos on topics such as campus life, programs, student testimonials, housing, dining options and city information. Your video content will give prospective students an insight into life in the US and what to expect when studying at your school! |

Thanks for Staying!
As we continue to grow, we are thrilled to sustain partnerships with our current clients. Last month we had Rochester Institute of Technology, McNeese State University, University of the Incarnate Word and the University of South Carolina Beaufort renew their partnership with us. If you're curious about when it's time for your renewal or would just like to catch up, send us an email and we would love to hear from you! |

The Worry-Free Way to Create Videos
Does the thought of creating an international recruitment video give you anxiety? If so, Dr. Philip Hull from Northwest Missouri State University suggests keeping in mind that you can always go back and make improvements. Here’s what he had to say on the video he recently added to his profile page:
“This is still a work in progress, as I want to add more content specific to Graduate and Undergraduate programs, and eventually subtitle the video with different languages. That part has proven a bit trickier.”
Before you create your video make a list of all the different topics that you want the video to entail like your school's safety, festivals, parades and degree programs, along with additional features that can be added at a later time, like subtitles. |
