> Cosigner? Who can you turn to?

international student loansTo increase your chances of getting approved for an international student loan at the best available rate, all non-US citizens and many US citizens will need a creditworthy US co-signer - but who can you turn to? The most common sources are family and friends, but think outside the box and consider cousins, aunts or family friends?

All US loans require a creditworthy US cosigner who has lived in the US for the past two years. If you’re ready to take control of your future, find a family member or friend that you trust.

This month we have a posting from our Study in Australia forum:

Hey, I'm from Germany and studying one semester in Australia. Therefore I've got a normal 6 month Student Visa and I'm working besides. Is there a chance to get the taxes back (I pay atm 29% taxes) at the end of my study abroad here? Has anyone tried this yet?

If you would like to add a response, or help this international student, please visit our forums and post a response to help them out!

> Study Computer Science

Whether you're one of the many international students weighing the relative merits of a handful of fields prior to taking the plunge into a degree program, or if you've already decided to study IT, it is worth noting some of the benefits to study computer science in the US. For any number of reasons—the overwhelming job placement rates of graduates, the high starting salaries, or the variety of applications—the decision to study IT is the third most popular decision for international students seeking degrees in the United States.
