I got selected on the Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange and Study program last year which allowed me to experience the American Culture at its closest and I also got the privilege to study in an American High School. I had always heard bad things about the United States living in Pakistan but on my arrival there I realized that all those things were just too generalized. I found a new perspective on American people in general and I decided to make a video on it reflecting my feelings. Coming from a country where people have bad views about the US, this was a dangerous stunt for me to show feelings for the culture. I also felt like giving back to my host community because I was a scholarship winner and the family that decided to host me did so out of sheer good will. I asked my American High School band to play a song for my video and they were happy to oblige so the title song of my video is recorded by our school band and not copied off the internet. I am back from my exchange year and don’t study in the US anymore but I want my video to see the light of day and to show my own people how different Americans actually are. Forgive me if my video is 24 seconds longer than the mentioned criteria. I’m not 18 yet but just a couple of months short but I am enrolled in college here in Pakistan and I hope you consider my entry eligible. Thank you!
