Matthew Peipert and Jamie Battjes from Hannibal-Lagrange University
Matthew Peipert is an International Student Specialist at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC). He was born in London and is a dual citizen of the U.S. and the U.K. Matthew grew up in England, South Africa, Kenya and the U.S. He did study abroad in Spain as an undergraduate and lived and worked in Japan for over five years. At BMCC, he advises students on matters related to admission, academics and immigration. Matthew has worked with international students for years, and wants them to have the best possible experience while they are in the United States.
Jamie Battjes is an International Student Specialist at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC). She is originally from Texas and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas. After finishing that degree, she taught English in China for three years before moving to New York to earn a Master’s degree in Urban and Multicultural Education. Since moving to New York, Jamie has worked in International Student Services. At BMCC, she assists in advising students on visa and immigration issues and keeping students well-informed about their rights and responsibilities. Jamie is very passionate about advising international students throughout their academic careers, and hopes to see all of her students accomplish great things!
