Dustin Orrell from Rose State College
Dustin Orrell is the Assistant Registrar, Assistant Director of Admissions and Records and the Primary Designated School Official for international student admission at Rose State College. He has been working with international students and applicants at Rose State for the past nine years and is a member of NAFSA Association of International Educators. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. While he was a college student, he also worked with international students from Kyoto, Japan, helping them to navigate the campus and taking them on fun activity trips in the U.S. during holidays and breaks. He was born in Texas, but growing up as the son of a United States Air Force father, he has lived in several different states and the country of the Philippines. Dustin advises the Rose State international students with all issues pertaining to admission and immigration. He is the son of educators and loves constantly learning new things about his students' home countries and cultures, as well as seeing them succeed in earning their degrees.
Rose State College is a public, two-year institution with an "open-door" admissions policy. The school offered its first classes on September 21, 1970. Initially called Mid-Del Junior College, it was renamed Oscar Rose Junior College in memory of the Midwest City-Del City Superintendent of Schools. In April 1983, the name was officially changed to Rose State College. Today, Rose State welcomes more than 13,000 students each year and is dedicated to helping each and every student succeed. The Rose State College campus is comprised of 25 buildings spread out over 120 acres, just 7 miles east of downtown Oklahoma City in Midwest City. Rose State is the largest community college in Oklahoma to offer residential housing.
