Ismail Warsame, M.Ed. from Oregon State University
Ismail advises international students at Oregon State University on immigration regulations, academic, personal, financial, social, and cross-cultural issues. In addition, he is involved in conducting various workshops for international students and takes part in the new student orientations.
A native of Somalia and multilingual, Ismail has lived and/or travelled through more than a dozen countries and over 30 States in the USA. Additionally, he is involved in OSU’s Africa Initiative. Ismail holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs as well as Master’s in Education from the University of Maine. He studied abroad at the American University in Cairo, Egypt as an undergraduate student. Ismail likes to see the world through multiple perspectives, which enables him to engage effectively with multicultural issues in higher education and to help diverse students overcome academic, cultural, social and linguistic obstacles.
